Any Nike SB-head is aware of the famous “Gucci” colorway, named for its use of the Gucci colors. For a while now, countless brands have been imitating or hinting at Italian fashion brand Gucci with the use of the Gucci stripes, the “GG” link design, or the “GG” interlocking design, coughcough brand whores coughcough.
The Muro X Adidas Originals X Kinetics shoe can now be added to this list of Gucci inspired streetwear shoes. To start off, the sneaker is a collaboration between Japanese DJ/rapper Muro and Japanese sneaker boutique Kinetics, as well as Adidas Originals (obviously). The colors are said to be based off of Muro’s colors, which is a green and red, but the green has been toned down a few hues to achieve that forest green that Gucci is famous for. The upper is crocodile-patterned leather with forest green and red Adidas stripes. A forest green and black sole with red stitching serves as the outsole, which is probably the most convincing reason (in my opinion) to get these babies. They are high tops, with huge tongues with huge Trefoil logos, resembling the Jeremy Scott collaboration a few months back, with the logo in that forest green again. The Trefoil logo is also debossed on the heel in a red, which really sets off the shoe if you wear it with shorts. Also releasing is a low top version, with all of the same features as the high top version, except the toebox is a white capped one – kind of like the traditional Adidas toebox.
Expect to see these on April 23rd, you can preorder them here. I’m copping, will you?
