We’re all into this sh*t. If you’re reading this now, if you’re an AHOODIE regular, you didn’t find this page on accident. You’re interested in the culture surrounding streetwear. Whether it’s the skating or the music or the babes of the food or the clothes (or all of that), at some point you’ve probably considered starting your own brand. Maybe you already have (I see you Second Narrow). Either way, this is a great opportunity for you, so listen up.
Jeff Staple, CEO and founder of Staple Design and Reed Space, has partnered up with an online tutoring website called Skillshare. In a $15 online class called “A Staple of Branding: How to Start Your Own Fashion Company” that allows you proceed at your own pace and dig as deep as you think you need to, he’s, well, sharing his skills. Jeff is giving the ins and outs of the industry to anyone who’s got 15 bucks and wants to get some pro-tips. But that’s not even the best part. He and his gang are going to sift through all of the content that students submit and pick the top 3 for an invitation to be mentored in New York at Reed Space. From that top 3, one brand will be picked to display their merchandise at an international trade show.
Reed Space has been known to push the boundaries of design and innovation, and they’ve certainly changed the game with this one. Check out the video below for more details, let us know what you think in the comments, and here’s Pharrell with some words of encouragement.
