What the Deuce: Kidrobot x Family Guy Mini Series

First of all I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Ahoodie for bumping me up the corporate ladder to Editorial status. I’m not entirely sure what this means but apparently I’m now entitled to a private parking space at HQ and the right to demand that Peter Parker takes more pictures of Spiderman. But enough about me…

It appears Kidrobot have been hard at work again collaborating with another of our favourite cult cartoons. After two series of The Simpsons (which I thought were pretty lame), KR have reached out to Seth McFarlane and hooked up a brand new Family Guy mini series. I’m normally pretty sceptical when such household names get involved with these types of project as it usually means just another set of boring merchandise, produced to squeeze that little bit more money out of your average consumer, but I have to say, I’m pretty damn impressed with this collection.

My main gripe with The Simpsons collection was that I thought all the figures just looked like someone had taken one of the normal dolls and squished it at both ends, but with the Family Guy series all the characters main features really stand out. Each vinyl toy stands at 3-inches, so the fact that they managed to cram so much eccentricity and vibrance into each one is a real testament to the creators. I’m not sure exactly how many of the cast will be commemorated in toy form, but from the pictures available there are 15 to speak of, two of which are unknown, shadowy figures on the side of the box. As I previously stated, I think all of them look fantastic, but if I was forced to pick a favourite I’d have to say Seamus the wooden-limbed sailor. Man, that salty old sea dog’s got swagger!

The series will be sold in blind-boxes and retail at $9.95 in the US and £9.15 in the UK. Basically, I’d advise grabbing yours now because these toys are more intense than the time Peter forgot how to sit down!
