The power of Netflix grows. Via the streaming service’s “Make It” page there’s instructions to make your own Netflix and Chill button. We’re not making this up. Basically the section of the Netflix website exists to share projects and ideas to help integrate the ‘Flix into your life in bigger and better ways. With “The Switch,” everything should be bigger and better.

Once completed, your Netflix and Chill button can do a ton of services for you. If you go for the full version of “The Switch,” you can ultimately start up Netflix on your TV, dim the lights, silence incoming phone calls and order takeout. And it’s all with one button. We’ll give you a rough idea of the basics.

How-To Make Your Netflix and Chill Button

For starters you’ll need to be comfortable with a soldering iron and have a solid understanding of electronics and programming before embarking on your journey to one-switch watching,” says Netflix in the video below. So we’ll skip over the conduits, capacitors and other tech ish we can’t possibly explain properly.

What you’ll need is a list of supplies assembled by Netflix. You should note that most sites recommend you start the process with a remote that already has a permanent Netflix button. After you’ve got the supplies together, we recommend you read the Netflix assembly instructions two or three times.

If you’ve got the skill to “do the chill,” then get started and share your finished projects with us. Watch the video below for added detail on creating your own version of “The Switch.”
