After a few teaser images and much speculation, Ronnie Fieg took to social media on Friday to provide his fans and sneaker enthusiasts alike with information regarding his latest upcoming release – the Asics Gel Lyte III and Gel Lyte 3.1 ‘Super Green’.  For those with a keen eye and a knack for sneaker history, the ‘Super Green’ colorway isn’t a new occurence, especially on the Asics Gel Lyte III model.  Ronnie speaks to the history, and the hard decision to have the colorway return, in his latest blog post on Kith (linked below).

The history is particularly interesting, especially as it connects to the form and fashion in which we will be receiving the latest iteration of the ‘Super Green’ Asics Gel Lyte III and Gel Lyte 3.1.  Most Asics enthusiasts will be very familiar with the Gel Lyte III model, a fan favorite by Ronnie Fieg, and the original muse for the ‘Super Green’ colorway.  However, this release also features a new model from Asics – the Gel Lyte 3.1 – a fusion model, blending the upper of the Gel Lyte III with leather and mesh, and a re-tooled performance midsole.  Aside from pristine materials, a nod to the fact that these have been handcrafted in Japan, each model features RF branding below the heeltabs, along with hits of ‘Super Green’ for an added pop of color.

I’ll let the images speak for themselves, but it’s clear that Ronnie Fieg is pulling out all the stops in celebration of Kith and the original ‘Super Green’ Asics Gel Lyte III.  You can look for the Asics Gel Lyte III and Gel Lyte 3.1 ‘Super Green’ to release on May 21 at Kith Manhattan, Kith Brooklyn, and Kithnyc.com.  There will be 700 pairs available globally, with the Gel Lyte III retailing for $250 and the Gel Lyte 3.1 retailing at $200 USD, respectively.  So, start hitting up your connect’s inboxes, because these are bound to fly off the shelves, like every Ronnie Fieg release, honestly.
