If you’ve been paying attention to the American sneaker scene for the past few years, you’ll undoubtedly recognize the name Ronnie Fieg. From his campout-inducing releases like the ‘Mint Leafs,’ ‘Coves’ and ‘Salmon Toes,’ Fieg has helped bring retro Asics models back into relevancy. And on top of all that, Fieg has managed to open two of his Kith stores in New York and Brooklyn in the past year, which have become hot spots for all things Asics. Since it appears that his specialty lies in finding premium materials and sharp colorways, this preview of his latest collabo the ‘Super Red 2.0′ looks to be more of the same — in all the right ways. Breaking away from his previous Gel Lyte III releases, Fieg took another stab at the GTII model, which experienced great success last summer with the ‘Ultramarine’ release. The ‘Super Red 2.0′ utilizes more of the premium suede we’ve seen on many other Fieg x Asics collabs, which will be perfect for the upcoming summer months.

We first got a preview of the ‘Super Red 2.0s’ back in November when a pair was seen on one of his Kith workers in a preview for some varsity jackets Kith had released, pictured below. Since then, not many details have popped up regarding this pair, other than a photo of our boy Theophilus London trying his pair on a few weeks back. This doesn’t come as a surprise to us as London is notorious for getting all the Fieg releases early. But with photos of these beginning to pop up more often via Fieg’s Instagram account and Twitter, it could be expected that these will release within the next few months via both Kith locations and their webstore. As more detailed release information becomes available, you can trust that the Ahoodie crew will keep you up to date on the latest from Fieg. Until then, check out pics of the shoes below as well as a comparison shot of the Super Red 1.0’s and the 2.0s. What do you think of this latest preview from Ronnie Fieg and Asics?
