Some people are scared of the dark. Some people of spiders. Some men are scared of commitment. Personally, I have nightmares about not being the super fresh guy you all know and love. This one time I dreamt I was wearing leopard print leggings and a tanktop. It had me pretty petrified at the time as I looked like a complete idiot, but once I realised it was all in my head I couldn’t stop Laughing My F*cking Ass Off. You may wonder why I’m disgussing fears on a fashion blog, well I’ll tell you; too many independent brands are scared to release anything other than a few t-shirts. It’s all too easy to draw up a few designs, print them on some Fruit of the Loom tees and startup a BigCartel site (Liam, back me up on this). It takes a great deal more inspiration (and balls) to create far more complex items such as jackets, embroidered sweats and caps. The latter is exactly what Soap-Box have done.

We’ve featured previous SB releases before, and you may remember that they were good enough to sponsor the AHOODIE Icon Award last December. The quality of their goods is ridiculously high, so you might think it comes with a premium price tag, but you’d be wrong. It’s the level of detail put into each item that I really love. I always enjoy wearing clothes that have clearly been pondered over for some time. The kind of intricacies that put larger, mass produced brands to shame. The latest collection combines more casual and playful designs such as the “To The End” and “King and Queen” tees, with smarter, more distinguished pieces like the “State of Mind” stadium jacket.

The first items will be released from Friday 2nd March, with more items being gradually introduced over the coming months. You can get your hands on the collection from the Soap-Box online store, or in the flesh from Candy Store (Birmingham) or Maniki Neko (London).
