Supra really are starting to cover all the bases. For nearly a decade they’ve churned out quality skate shoes, but it’s now time for them to branch out a little and deliver a sneaker that’s perfect for outrunning the police when they confiscate your board. Genius!
I’m not entirely sure that was the initial thought process behind the design of the Hammer Run, but it sure works for me. This lightweight runner is a streamlined re-imagining of Jim Greco’s signature Hammer silhouette and has been crafted from a highly breathable mesh. The idea was to remove all unnecessary weight to create a sneaker that hits the scales at less than a 10-bag from your local dealer.
With the Nike Roshe Run and adidas ZX Flux being two of the most popular kicks this year, it stands to reason that Supra want to get a piece of the action. The Hammer Run is initially being released in black and tropical colourways, but we expect to see plenty more crazy designs hitting shelves in the near future. You can cop the first two from the Supra store.
So what do you think about Supra’s first lightweight runner. Is the Hammer all go or a false start. Let us know in the comments below.
