Get some rocks in your glass because Supra and Hanon have tapped the barrel and are pouring that fine Whiskey Gold. It’s been a release that has been kept well under the radar, but we’re now pleased to bring you plenty of detailed shots of the two colourways being served up.
The first to be passed over the counter is the scotch Owen. It features an all-over pig suede which represents the malted barley used to make the famous tipple from Northeast Scotland. The silhouette is a happy medium between a classic skate shoe and a retro runner, and features a subtle modification on the body; two sets of eyelets. What’s really got us drunk is the limited numbers up for grabs, with just 500 being produced.
The second sup is the all-black Owen Mid, dubbed the “Black Label”. An interesting fact about this design is it pays homage to an old whiskey making legend known as the Angels Share. It’s said that 2% of the whiskey evaporates during the distilling process, sending that sweet scotch up to heaven. But that’s not even the most fascinating piece of info, oh no. This kick is being released in a run of just 50. Yeah, you read that right, fifty! You’re more likely to see an actual angel than these sneakers.
The Supra x Hanon “Whiskey Gold” and “Black Label” will be available from Hanon on Saturday 26th July, and other elite stockists from 2nd August.
