Stone Island wasn’t the only outerwear collab of the year, because here comes the Supreme x The North Face Spring 2016 collection. While Spring is in the air, you’ll find this is a pretty heavy duty collab featuring some of The North Face‘s most unique tech available. Here’s what the New York label has to say about the range:
Steep Tech was created by legendary extreme skier Scot Schmidt along with The North Face to make more functional ski apparel.
“Back in the day, a lot of the ski suits didn’t have the things I needed, and I was always stitching things together…making them more usable.”
Relocating pockets, adding webbing, and using more durable materials were some of the innovations Schmidt brought to the Steep Tech collection. Introduced in 1991, Steep Tech was produced for seven years before being discontinued and brought back shortly after due to popular demand from East Coast retailers.
Naturally Steep Tech returns in 2016 for the Supreme x The North Face spring 2016 collection. The collabo consists of a waterproof, abrasion resistant nylon Steep Tech Hooded Jacket, Steep Tech Hooded Sweatshirt, Steep Tech Sweatpant, and Backpack — all made exclusively for Supreme.
