The Jordan 2011, just like the Jordan 2010’s, 2009’s, etc. was extremely hyped. This year the Jordan Brand releases a super-sexy model with more attention to detail than ever before.

The Air Jordan 2011 has a basic shell, with leather/mesh upper, an icy (translucent) sole (with the sickest elephant print you’ve ever seen), and an extra leather layer on top that flows from the side, to the toebox, and to the other side of the shoe.  The leather is called petina leather, which basically means that it has been hand crafted and polished to make a finish on the leather that is unique to every shoe. This method of making leather has only been used on dress shoes, these being the first athletic shoe to use this material. The extra leather layer mentioned before (also petina) has somewhat of a splash pattern all throughout. Lace loops are hidden, except for the two lace holes at the upper part of the shoe. The tongue is mesh, as well as the ankle area, to provide breathability and more of a contoured fit. Just like the AJ 2010’s, the tongue logos don’t match. The left tongue is an embossed “23” in dots, and the other logo is the traditional Jumpman logo. All of this aside, the BEST (and I mean best) part of the shoe is the ability to change the type of midsole you use in the shoe. You get two pairs, one called “Be Quick” and the other named “Be Explosive”. These midsoles come in their own bags inside the box, a little detail that many love. The quick midsole has Air technology (similar technology used on Air Maxes and the sort) that helps you run faster, while the explosive midsole has extensive cushioning for those who are more agressive while shooting hoops. From what it looks like, the Jordan 2011 continues the Air Jordan tradition of using the best materials, the newest bleeding-edge technologies, perfect stitching, elaborate details, sexy boxes, and looking G on and off the court. The lucky bastards in China will be able to get at these starting February 1st, and February 19th for America. Check the pics from TheShoeGame and Dime Mag below for an shoe-gasm.
